What are the effects of CBD

This is a very common question we get asked in store on a daily basis, read on for the answer…

Firstly, CBD (cannabidiol) is a chemical compound found in the cannabis (marijuna) plant but it is different to the compound called THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is the psychoactive compound that gets the user ‘high’ whereas CBD does not have any psychoactive properties, so good quality, legal CBD products will not get you high.

Don’t some CBD products contain THC?

Yes, some CBD products will contain traces of CBD, but the legal limit in the UK is currently 0.2% THC and this level is so low that it will not have any effect and should not show on any drugs test (to the best of our current knowledge).

Always buy your CBD products from a reputable retailer and check the packaging to confirm the THC level is below 0.2%.

What are the effects of CBD?

The effects of CBD are expansive and each person will experience the effects to a varying degree, but here’s a list of the most common reported effects:

  • Pain relief
  • Relaxation
  • Aid to sleeping
  • Stopping smoking high THC cannabis
  • Skin conditions
  • Reduction of some mental health symptoms
  • Reduction of some cancer related symptoms
  • Neuroprotective qualities
  • Heart health benefits
  • Other benefits

Please note: these effects are still being investigated by the scientific communities and we give no guarantees about these effects.

Pain Relief

This is one of the main reasons our customers buy CBD, and they report all kinds of pain relief.

We’ve had customers with long term pain conditions (such as fibromyalgia) report a significant reduction in their pain levels without the side effects of some prescription medications.

Our staff use CBD oils for midler pain relief such as mild back pain with a lot of success.

Customer quote… “I’ve suffered long term pain all my adult life and CBD reduces the level of that pain to a more manageable level and my days are just better and easier than they used to be”

Relaxation

CBD is very good at taking the edge off a stressful day and making the day flow easier and nicer without reducing your capacity/abilities like alcohol or other drugs might.

If used regularly a large number of our customers report just feeling better and having reduced levels of anxiety.

Aid to Sleeping

This is another main reason and a lot of our customers use CBD to aid their sleeping, but don’t worry, it won’t knock you out, it will likely help you get to sleep quicker, sleep longer and have a more peaceful sleep.

Customer quote.. “I just get an extra 2 hours of sleep and get to sleep quicker”

Stopping smoking high THC cannabis

High THC cannabis is still illegal in the UK at the moment (unless prescribed by a doctor) and some people are looking to have an alternative to using illegal cannabis, while still having some of the enjoyment they are used to.

Vaping CBD is one of the best ways to do this as you still get some great flavours and the relaxing CBD effects take your mind off of wanting to go back to high THC cannabis.

Many people are also subject to drugs tests for various reasons, and to the best of our knowledge CBD will not show up on any drugs tests (although we can’t give a 100% guarantee)

Customer quote… “My work started drugs testing everyone and I wanted an alternative to my weekend hobby of smoking a joint, vaping CBD was the closest I could find and I passed my drugs test with flying colours!”

Skin conditions

CBD lotions and creams are showing a lot of promise with skin conditions such as dry/itchy skin, eczema etc. and when applied in lotion form you don’t even need to vape it. Our customers report that when applied directly to the affected area it starts to work quickly and effectively.

Customer quote… “My eczema hasn’t totally gone, but it’s much less of an issue when I apply CBD cream twice a day”

Many other benefits/effects

As listed above there are many other reported benefits which we don’t have enough information to write about with much detail here, but it can help many people in many situations.

Will CBD cure my condition?

Sadly we can’t give any firm answers here, and whilst it is unlikely to totally cure many severe conditions, it can be a vital tool in your toolbox for controlling pain, stress and other symptoms. The scientific community is doing lots of research into what CBD works best for, so watch this space for more information!
